MOP Environmental Solutions (PINKSHEETS: MOPN) President & CEO, Charles Diamond, has released the text of his testimony submitted to the Congressional Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship regarding the Gulf Oil Spill, Chaired by Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana. In his testimony Mr. Diamond states his case as to why MOP Environmental's patented oil pickup product, "MOP," should be considered as the "best option FIRST RESPONSE for oil recovery in the Gulf Oil Spill."

Mr. Diamond stated in his testimony that, "I contend that the use of MOP Bulk Sorbent as the FIRST RESPONSE to an oil spill is the best option you have to neutralize all the potential harmful effects, both environmental and economic, of an oil spill such as you now have in the Gulf." Mr. Diamond went on to say, "Had our absorbent and method of deployment been used within the first 48 hours... we would not be sitting here discussing a spill that would have otherwise been contained from the beginning." This comment is followed by the benefits and economics of MOP that he illustrated by saying, "MOP captures and recovers up to 100,000 barrels (i.e. much higher than the estimated Gulf discharge rate) of spilled oil a day using a capital expense of merely $100,000 for deployment equipment, with under $3,000,000 in product. Add to this approximately $50,000 a day for cost of retrieval of oil valued at $5,000,000 based on $50 per barrel... for an overall profit of up to $2,000,000 or more a day, and the value of this approach becomes distinctly apparent... instead of the billions of dollars that have already been spent and untold extensive damage that could have been prevented."

Mr. Diamond also went into great detail discussing the Environmental benefits to using MOP and how it naturally biodegrades oil, and alternatively, through application of a Carbon Negative Bio-Char process advocated by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, produces a soil amendment that boosts agricultural yields 200% to 400% while reducing Global Warming. Mr. Diamond stated, "This process is notable as the only known natural process that once started continues to grow and to further help reverse Global Warming, while boosting agricultural yields (equivalent to making more land)." Brief Description of The MOP Technology:
