HeadsUp Entertainment Files Trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office

HeadsUp Entertainment (PINK SHEETS:HDUP) announced today that it has filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to further protect its growing brand and intellectual property in North America. The company expects the USPTO will begin reviewing the application in either the second or third quarter of 2010. The filing of the trademark application is an important step in securing all rights available under the Trademark Act of 1946 (Lanham Act). Although the filing of the trademark is not a “rubberstamp process”, the company has been using the HeadsUp Entertainment brand name since 2007.

Kelly Kellner, President and CEO of HeadsUp Entertainment stated, “We believe there is significant value in the HeadsUp brand and we have been advised that filing this trademark with the USPTO will further protect our brand as we continue to grow.”

Kellner concluded, “We are reviewing all of our intellectual property and we may choose to secure further intellectual property in the near future.”
