Green Star Kentucky Electric Car Demonstration Covered by News Media
April 16 2009 - 10:28AM
Business Wire
Green Star Products, Inc. (OTC:GSPI), announced today that the
April 14 Kentucky Electric Vehicle Demonstration was successful and
attracted news media despite rainy weather conditions.
In an article written by TheNewsJournal.com titled The Future
is Now: Electric Car Company Considers Local Plant (on the
Internet site it's titled Electric car company considering
Williamsburg factory). Colored pictures of the vehicle cover the
newspaper's front page and the featured article covered many
aspects of Global Green Car's program including the advantages it
brings to target markets.
Brooks Agnew, Vice President of Engineering for Green Star
Products Inc., said The electric vehicle production assembly plant
will be managed by Global Green Cars, Inc. Global Green Cars is a
U.S. and International Consortium of automobile companies and
associated supply companies which includes Green Star Products as
an engineering and technology provider.
The company hopes to start production soon dependent on State
and Federal incentives. The company has looked at other States such
as Utah, however, building somewhere in the Eastern part of the
country would be preferable. The problem with the Western United
States is that most suppliers are in the East.
"Kentucky, Mr. Agnew said, is less than an eight hour drive
from every supplier that we need. It makes sense to be in
Kentucky."
This region from Toronto to El Paso is commonly called Auto
Alley because suppliers and many auto assembly plants are located
along a 200 mile wide market area.
The newspaper further stated, Several local dignitaries
gathered at the Corbin Speedway Tuesday morning to see a
demonstration by Green Star of their electric car engine, and to
test drive one of their vehicles, a 1994 Geo Metro (NYSE: GM) that
had been converted to electric use in 1995 (see April 13, 2009,
GSPI press release titled Green Star Products Announces Kentucky
Electric Car Demonstration for Legislators and Media

The newspaper also quoted some of the test drivers, Rep.
Charlie Siler, who was the first volunteer to drive the vehicle
Tuesday, said he feels it would be excellent for commuting to and
from town.
"It has more pick-up than a truck," noted Whitley County
Judge-Executive Pat White Jr., who test drove the vehicle and has
been in talks with the company for 18 months. "It really will
surprise you how much power it has. It has a lot of room. I'm 6'4"
and 260 pounds and I had plenty of room in the vehicle. I think it
would serve the purpose as a commuter vehicle very well and save
people a lot of money."

The Times Tribune newspaper also endured the raining weather and
wrote an extensive article about the electric vehicle demonstration
which also mentions Representative Charlie Siler and Whitley County
Judge-Executive Pat White Jr., who drove the vehicle. The Times

Mr. Joseph LaStella, President of Green Star Products, stated,
Because of the rain encountered at the track on Tuesday
demonstrations will continue this week at the Corbin Motor Speedway
and other locations for TV news and other news media to
attend.
Mr. LaStella also stated, Green Star Products core business is
still in the biorefinery alternative fuel market and presently it's
constructing biorefinery facilities at its home base in Glenns
Ferry, Idaho. Green Star has become a leader in the Biorefinery
Industry, which includes biodiesel production, algae production and
cellulosic ethanol production.
On April 15, the WKYT TV News Station covered the story titled
"Electric-Vehicle Plant Proposed In Southern Kentucky" about the
electric vehicle plant site. The reporter, Ms. Michel Mason,
conducted several interviews in front of the Williamsburg
Courthouse. The video and news report on the electric vehicle can
be seen at: http://www.wkyt.com/news/headlines/43077242.html
A separate press release today covers U.S. Representative Mike
Simpson's visit to the Glenns Ferry Biorefinery Complex site by
Times-News correspondent Blair Koch in an article titled Rep.
Simpson Impressed by Glenns Ferry Biodiesel Facility. See
