EssilorLuxottica SA said late on Thursday that it has appointed the new president of its employee shareholders' association as a director of its board.

Virginie Mercier Pitre's nomination to the board of directors will be submitted for ratification at the next annual general meeting, which will take play on May 25, the company said.

Mrs. Mercier Pitre replaces Juliette Favre on the Franco-Italian eyewear company's board.
