Deutsche Post AG said Friday that it has signed a partnership deal with British logistics provider Baxter Freight Ltd. to coordinate freight transport in the U.K. and across the European continent.

DHL Freight GmbH, a subsidiary of the German postal freight and logistics group, will give Baxter access to its European groupage network and offer it use of its intermodal services, which will add environmentally friendly logistics to its portfolio.

Baxter in turn will be DHL Freight's U.K. handling agent and coordinate its freight from the U.K. to continental Europe, while offering Deutsche Post an increased volume capacity, Deutsche Post said.

The two companies will work together on major tenders as they come in, it added.
