Deep Blue Marine, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: DPBE) is pleased to announce that the company has completed the first stages of construction in their privately owned Shipwreck Museum in the Dominican Republic.

All aspects of framing, wiring, plumbing and interior wood work have been finished. Artisans have spent two years rebuilding cannons and other artifacts for display. During the last two years of recovery work the company has brought up thousands of artifacts including musket balls, cannon balls, bar shot, shrapnel shot, wine bottles, copper pots and pans, ship's rigging, rope , sails, coins, cannons, muskets, ship's compass, kitchen utensils, smoking pipes, rings, jewelry, different shoe and belt buckles, uniform buttons and many other artifacts from the daily life of the men who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Many of the artifacts on display will be from the French 74 gun ship 'Le Scipion' which struck a coral reef and sank in Samana Bay on October 18, 1782. The ship had survived the Battle of the Chesapeake under the command of deGrasse. She then moved to the Battle of the Saints in April of 1782. On October 17th 1782, 'Le Scipion' engaged two English ships of the line, the 'London,' 98 guns and the 'Torbay,' 74 guns, and the 14 gun sloop 'Badger' in a 34 hour running gun battle. She outfought and outmaneuvered them in the Mona Passage for almost two full days. While anchoring in Samana Bay she struck a high deep and sank in 20 minutes.

The museum located in Samana will open in October 2010 with hundreds of artifacts from this and other ships. Deep Blue Marine will house several artifacts on loan from the Dominican Republic Government as part of their displays.

The Museum will have its own conservation lab which, at this time, is more than 75% complete and will be ready to accept artifacts within 30 days.

The company hopes to have the entire project completely functional by October 1, 2010 for the start of the new cruise ship season to the area. The City of Samana hosts over 120,000 people per year who visit the area on cruise ships. The ships drop their passengers directly across the street from the museum entrance. This same dock is used for tourists who enjoy whale watching from November to March each year.

Randy Champion, Vice President of Deep Blue Marine, Inc. had this to say, "We have worked very hard on this project and we are ahead of schedule in all areas of construction and development. We have met with several of the local agencies that book tours and attractions for the tourists here and are tendering agreements. We hope to be very busy this fall."
