Credit Agricole SA's (ACA.FR) net profit fell 15% in the second quarter of the year, France's second-largest listed bank by assets said Friday.

Net profit for the period was 1.22 billion euros ($1.35 billion) compared with EUR1.44 billion a year earlier.

Revenue declined 0.4% on the year to EUR5.15 billion.

Analysts had expected the bank to post a net profit of EUR1.24 billion on revenue of EUR5.10 billion, according to a consensus provided by FactSet.

Credit Agricole's core Tier 1 ratio, a key measure of capital strength, notched up to 11.6% in June from 11.5% in March.
