Conforce International, Inc. (“Conforce” or “Company”) (OTCBB: CFRI) announced today that EKO-FLOR™, the Company’s composite flooring system engineered for the transportation industry, has met the requirements to receive Cradle to Cradle℠ (“C2C”) Silver Certification from the Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (EPEA) Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH. The EPEA’s findings were audited by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry, an independent global sustainability consulting and product certification firm, which confirmed the EPEA’s assessment of EKO-FLOR™ and issued the highly coveted C2C Silver Certificate to Conforce.

An increasing number of global customers are requesting, and in some cases mandating, that eco-innovative products be used in their supply chains. The receipt of C2C certification will allow Conforce to aggressively pursue a host of opportunities with companies that require their suppliers to carry this multi-attribute eco-label. C2C certification validates the Company’s long-standing belief that innovation can bridge the gap between economics and the environment.

The C2C certification process was led by George Pavlovich, head of the Product Sustainability & Life Cycle Assessment Products Group at Bayer MaterialScience LLC. With regard to the EPEA C2C Silver certification of EKO-FLOR™, Mr. Pavlovich stated that: With the growing demand for sustainable manufacturing, EPEA certification became a critical product objective. We worked side by side with Conforce in achieving a C2C Silver rating for EKO-FLOR™. From start to finish, the certification process spanned approximately seven months and involved an exhaustive analysis of each of the constituent components of EKO-FLOR™. Special thanks go out to all of our raw material suppliers and to the working group at Bayer and Conforce for their tireless efforts in supporting the C2C initiative.”

The CEO of the EPEA, Dr. Jrn Knke commented that: “EKO-FLOR is the first composite flooring system of its kind to earn C2C Silver Certification. The Cradle to CradleSM branded certification mark signifies to customers that EKO-FLOR™ is manufactured using materials and processes designed for health and perpetual recyclability while meeting, and sometimes exceeding, the highest international regulatory and industry standards. Companies with Cradle to CradleSM certified products enjoy increased brand value by achieving product differentiation, building customer retention, facilitating transparency, reducing liability, and fostering innovation. In the US, these companies will also be able to offer their certified products as “environmentally-preferable,” a current requirement for government purchases. The EPEA congratulates Conforce on its decision to produce EKO-FLOR™ according to the highest standards of environmental responsibility.”

About EPEA and C2C

The EPEA methodology is based upon an analysis of the intrinsic value of the materials used in the production process and their useful afterlife in recycled or even “upcycled” products, which have value and technological sophistication that may be higher than that of their original use. Unlike many other eco-efficiency oriented certification systems, C2C certification focuses on the characteristics of sustainable materials, products and systems. As a result, this process places a major emphasis on the human and ecological health impacts of a product’s ingredients, as well as on the ability of that product to be truly recycled or safely composted.
