Bank renews use of CSI’s NuPoint® core solution

For more than three decades, Merrillville, Ind.-based Centier Bank ($2.4 billion) has partnered with end-to-end technology provider Computer Services, Inc. (CSI) (OTCQX: CSVI) to manage its core banking needs, as well as other key technology services. Today, CSI and Centier Bank have extended their partnership for another seven years, allowing the bank to continue leveraging CSI’s NuPoint core platform to eliminate the common complexities of core bank processing.

Over the course of its nearly 120-year history, Centier Bank has turned to CSI time and again due to its ability to provide innovative products and services capable of meeting the constantly changing needs of its financial institution clients. For instance, in realizing the need to meet consumers’ growing demand for remote account access, the bank was an early adopter of CSI’s mobile banking platform in 2012. By extending its relationship with CSI, Centier executives say they are confident the technology provider will continue to support the bank’s ongoing growth strategy in order to maintain its success moving forward.

“Based on today’s fiercely competitive financial environment, banks of every size must provide the same key technology offerings as the industry’s largest and most prominent institutions,” said Bob Buhle, senior partner of operations at Centier Bank. “Just as we strive to act on the demands of our clients and financial consumers as a whole by investing in new technology, CSI consistently listens to our needs and delivers new offerings that enable us to remain a viable banking partner for our clients.”

CSI’s NuPoint platform provides dynamic core banking technology to not only enhance performance, but also allow banks to maintain cloud-based operations that are personalized, optimized and fully secure. The core platform provides institutions like Centier Bank with such banking advantages as:

  • Full integration across banking platforms;
  • Cloud-based functionality to reduce expensive hardware and software costs;
  • Customized views of information at the bank and user levels;
  • Advanced flexibility to allow access from any work station; and
  • Robust reporting tools for tracking, monitoring and analyzing performance.

“What makes our relationship with CSI so special is that we continue to challenge each other to grow further as new demands come about within the industry,” Buhle added. “As we extend our 30-year relationship with CSI, we expect to continue progressing together, leveraging new technologies to innovate outdated processes and stay ahead of the pack.”

Like CSI, Centier Bank distinguishes itself on service and uses technology as a way to create that client-focused distinction. For example, in recognizing that consumers’ banking expectations have shifted from regular business hours to 365 days a year, the bank remains focused on deepening its mobile channel to better serve its clients. And succeeding with this objective will require ongoing collaboration between the bank and CSI.

“While superior technology is a key component to the success of a bank’s relationship with its vendors, serving as a true partner for the institution and its customers is what separates good solutions providers from great solutions providers,” said Steve Powless, chief executive officer of CSI. “Our continually expanding relationship with Centier Bank exemplifies what CSI strives to be—a customer-centric organization that leverages advanced technology to reach unique business goals. This combination of unmatched customer support and innovation sets us apart in the industry, and it’s what will keep us in tune with organizations like Centier Bank for years to come.”
