CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Chemring Detection
Systems, Inc. ("CDS"), part of Chemring Group PLC, is pleased to
announce that JUNO® has been awarded SAFETY Act Developmental
Testing and Evaluation (DT&E) Designation by the US Department
of Homeland Security, Science and Technology (DHS S&T).
JUNO® is a handheld trace vapor detector based on the advanced
sensor technology – Differential Mobility Spectrometry (DMS).
The Benefits of DMS over currently available products include
improved sensitivity and selectivity resulting in trace level
detection and low false alarm rates.
The SAFETY Act, also known as Support Anti-Terrorism by
Fostering Effective Technologies, is a law enacted by Congress as
part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (Title VII, Subtitle
G).
The designation, which is valid until October 31, 2015, coincides with the official
product release of JUNO®. "We are very pleased to receive the
DT&E Designation under the SAFETY Act for JUNO®. This certainly
reinforces our belief that Differential Mobility Spectrometry
(DMS), inside JUNO®, represents an excellent platform for trace
vapor detection," says Dan
McKenrick, President of Chemring North America.
JUNO® headlines CDS' new point-of-need instrumentation product
family being introduced at Pittcon®2013 (www.pittcon.org) which
will include a handheld Raman (THOR-1064) and a UV Fluorescence
Particle Detector and Collector (iCollector). Visit BOOTH
#4210 for product demonstrations and information on how CDS'
products solve point-of-need measurement needs in the security,
environmental, and industrial monitoring applications or visit
