To help meet rising global demand for business jets, On the Move Systems Corp. (OTCBB:OMVS) is exploring new ways to offer executive travelers first-class air charter service without the wince-inducing costs associated with buying a plane.

Reuters reported last week that sales of business jets are expected to reach $18.4 billion this year, up about eight percent from 2012. It’s a strong sign that demand for executive air travel is on the rise, especially in emerging markets such as China and Latin America.

OMVS is building a new online transportation portal designed to offer niche travel options—including air charter services—that aren’t offered by its larger, more established competitors in the space. Business jet travel will be an area of focus as the company works to dramatically expand its list of service provider partnerships.

“We forecast demand for jet travel to continue rising for the foreseeable future, driven by advances in technology and the growth of global business networks,” said OMVS CEO Robert Wilson.

With its cutting-edge online transportation platform now in development, OMVS plans to offer executives the opportunity to fly by jet to any destination without the prohibitive costs associated with buying, insuring and maintaining an aircraft.

Last week, the company’s executive leadership opened talks with several transportation companies regarding possible partnerships and acquisitions this week at the National Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas. By developing new and better solutions for business travelers, OMVS plans to compete in the online travel market alongside larger firms such as Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN), TripAdvisor.com (NASDAQ: TRIP) and Expedia.com (NASDAQ: EXPE).
