VANCOUVER, April 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Rock Tech Lithium
Inc. (the "Company" or "Rock Tech") (TSX-V: RCK; Frankfurt:
RJIB) is pleased to announce additional channel sample assay
results from its recently completed exploration program at its
100%-owned Georgia Lake lithium property in the Thunder Bay Mining
District of Northwest Ontario,
Canada.
The assay results are from channel samples taken from the
Aumacho pegmatite, and are the highest grade results to date for
this channel sampling program. Three (3) channels were cut and
eighteen (18) samples taken.
Rock Tech's CEO, Martin Stephan,
commented, "The channel sample assay results from the Aumacho area
are exceptional, showing grades up to 4.42% lithium oxide, the
highest grades encountered to date. We have completed just three
drill holes and four channel samples at Aumacho since acquiring the
Georgia Lake property as the majority of our investment was aimed
at confirming historic resources in the Nama Creek area and
upgrading these to NI 43-101 standards. Further exploration work
here is certainly warranted as the Aumacho area represents
excellent potential for increased lithium resources."
The exploration program targeted nine (9) of the known
lithium-bearing pegmatite occurrences and has expanded on the
wealth of knowledge obtained through past exploration programs that
led to the Company's National Instrument ("NI") 43-101 resource
estimate.
The purpose of the channels was to gain information on the
location of the pegmatites on surface and to aid in drill targeting
in the future. Assay result highlights are summarized in the
following table:

The Aumacho area of the property consists of three
lithium-bearing pegmatites and was the focus of drill programs
conducted by various operators in 1955, 1956, 1957 and 2009. In
total, forty-one (41) holes were drilled totalling over 5,460
metres. Based on drill information from 1955-1957, a resource
estimate of 236,775 tonnes grading 1.63% Li2O was delineated (The
Northern Miner, 1957). The historical estimate does not use the
categories set out in sections 1.2 and 1.3 of NI 43-101 and a
qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify the
historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral
reserves. The Company is not treating the historical estimate as
current mineral resources or mineral reserves. Rock Tech drilled
three holes totalling 200 metres in 2010 and completed one channel
for sampling in 2011. The drill holes were designed to twin
historic holes and verify the location of the spodumene pegmatites
at depth to get a better understanding of the geology of these
pegmatites and their lithium oxide grade and rare earth element
potential.
The channel samples were analyzed by Actlabs, an ISO 9001:2008
certified analytical laboratory located in Geraldton, Ontario.
Rock Tech is the only exploration company in the Georgia Lake
region with an NI 43-101 resource estimate. Further, the Company
has completed metallurgical testing on a bulk sample demonstrating
the ability to produce both a high-grade spodumene concentrate and
battery-grade lithium carbonate ("Li2CO3"). The spodumene-bearing
pegmatites of the Georgia Lake area were originally discovered in
1955.
All scientific and technical information in this news release
concerning the Georgia Lake lithium property was reviewed and
prepared under the supervision of Locke Goldsmith, P. Eng.,
P. Geo, an independent Qualified Person to Rock Tech.
