GX Guardian Exploration Inc

Guardian Exploration Inc. ("Guardian" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:GX) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Gerry O'Reilly as Vice President
Exploration, and Harvey Harrold as Production Manager.


Mr. O'Reilly has over 26 years experience developing oil and gas prospects, land
sales and property acquisitions in western Canada including the discovery of a
number of gas and oil pools. He has demonstrated expertise in building and
operating successful exploration companies, and is skilled in managing
exploration, acquisition, development and operational budgets. Mr. O'Reilly
completed a Master of Science in 1981 at Imperial College, and a Bachelor of
Science, Honours in 1977 at the University of London, London, England.


Mr. Harrold has over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry,
specifically with respect to daily operations of both high and low pressure gas
wells and facilities, and maintenance of gas compressors.

In conjunction with Mr. O'Reilly's appointment, the Corporation granted him
300,000 stock options. The options, which are convertible into common shares of
the Corporation, will have an exercise price of $0.285 and a five year term to
expiry.


Guardian is a Calgary-based corporation engaged in the acquisition, exploration
and development of resource properties. Common shares of the company trade on
the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol "GX".
