New board members will add start-up and recycling experience to provide direction in early stage commercialization of energy production technology WEST BERLIN, N.J., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Resource Corporation (OTC:GBRC.PK) announced today that they recently added and filled two new positions on their Board of Directors. On September 20, 2007, the Board of Directors expanded the size of the Board to five members, creating two vacancies, to comply with regulations in anticipation of applying for listing on the American Stock Exchange. The existing Board elected two new members, Kim Thorne O'Brien and Jonathan L. Simon, who of whom accepted the appointment on September 21, 2007. The new board members build the framework for Global Resource's move into the commercialization stage of the company. Having entered the recycling industry with the sale of its first HAWK energy conversion unit, the company is also in advanced discussions with interests in the petrochemical industry. "These appointments reflect and will assist in our rapid growth as we move from technology development into commercialization," says Frank Pringle, CEO of Global Resource Corporation. "Kim's experience with start-ups and marketing of development stage companies will be key to our transformation into commercialization. Jonathan's background in the recycling industry will provide us with insight into a market that has flooded our offices with interest since commercializing the first HAWK unit." Ms. Kim Thorne O'Brien serves as President of Independence, Inc., a firm engaged in providing consulting services to start-up biotechnology companies, since May, 2004. Preceding her current position, she was the Vice President, Business Development & Marketing of AdvancedTraces, Inc., a company engaged in the development of supersensitive detectors of biowarfare agents. Prior to that, Kim was Regional Business Director, Northeast Region, of MedImmune, Inc. between October, 1995 and October, 2001. She has held various other positions in the health industry. She graduated from Ursinius College in 1980 with a B.S. in Health & Physical Education, received an M.S.Ed in Exercise Physiology in 1981 from Temple University, and completed all work except for the dissertation for a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology from Temple University. Mr. Jonathan L. Simon has been engaged in the recycling industry since the mid-1970's. From April, 2006 to the present, he has served as President of Royal Green LLC, a company engaged primarily in recycling ferrous metals based in Temple, PA. Royal Green LLC was a successor company of Royal Green Corp., another recycler of ferrous metals, for which Mr. Simon was President from 1990 to March, 2006. In addition, since May, 2006 he has been a director of Green Energy Technologies, a company that develops technology for cost and energy efficient wind energy. Jonathan graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973 with a BS in Biology. ABOUT Global Resource Corp. Global Resource Corp. has a patent pending process that allows for removal of oil and alternative petroleum products at very low cost from various resources, including shale deposits, tar sands, waste oil streams and bituminous coal with significantly greater yields and lower costs than are available utilizing existing known technologies. The process uses specific frequencies of microwave radiation to extract oils and alternative petroleum products from secondary raw materials, and is expected to dramatically reduce the cost for oil and gas recovery from a variety of unconventional hydrocarbon resources. GBRC's technology will not only be developed to extract oil from shale, but from depleted oil fields in the US and elsewhere, many of which still contain more than half of the hydrocarbons originally in these fields, because the residual hydrocarbons are too viscous to extract with conventional technology.
