Rogers will donate $100,000 to Canadian Red Cross to help with local relief efforts

TORONTO, June 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Rogers Communications Inc. today announced that it will be donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help residents who have been affected by the flooding in Calgary and in other communities across Southern Alberta.

Rogers and Fido customers who are interested in making a $5 donation to help those in the affected regions can do so on their mobile phone by sending a free text message with the word "ABHELP" to 4664. One hundred per cent of proceeds will go to the Canadian Red Cross.

"Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating flooding in Alberta," said Peter King, Senior Director, Community Investment. "We are deeply committed to helping our employees and customers in this challenging time and we will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves over the coming weeks."
