WINNIPEG, July 14, 2016 /CNW/ - (TSX: NFI) (TSX: NFI.DB.U) New Flyer Industries Canada ULC, a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. ("New Flyer" or the "Company"), the largest heavy-duty transit bus and motor coach manufacturer and parts distributor in North America, announced today that Translink in Vancouver, British Columbia has exercised options with New Flyer for 26 (or 52 equivalent units or "EUs") 60-foot diesel electric hybrid Xcelsior® buses, as well as 45 40-foot diesel buses and 51 40-foot compressed natural gas ("CNG") buses.

The 96 40-foot diesel and CNG buses were awarded in Q2 2016 and are added to the 26 (52 EU) 60-foot buses transacted in Q1 2016, which have been previously included in New Flyer's April 15, 2016 Q1 2016 Orders and Backlog press release.

Since 1991 New Flyer has delivered nearly 1,200 buses for Translink in a variety of lengths and propulsions.  All 122 buses will be delivered to the customer over the next nine months.
