InterRent Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:IIP.UN)(TSX:IIP.DB) ("InterRent")
announced today that Ron Leslie has been appointed as an independent Trustee of
InterRent. Mr. Leslie fills the vacancy created by the departure of David
Nicholds, who decided not to stand for re-election and resigned as a Trustee. 


Mr. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Commerce, has been a member of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants since 1988 and is managing partner of a public accounting
firm Phomin Leslie. Mr. Leslie has experience serving on boards of both public
and private companies. The financial acumen and Audit Committee experience that
Mr. Leslie brings will add further breadth and depth to the Board.
