DETROIT, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The current economy has been tough on a lot of people, but it's even more challenging for economically disadvantaged women who are trying to enter the workforce -- buying appropriate clothes for an interview is expensive, and difficult to manage without a job. DTE Energy's Women of Finance group is inviting the public to join them in a "suit drive" to help such women. Company volunteers will be accepting donations at DTE Energy's downtown headquarters Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will go to Dress for Success, a nonprofit organization based locally in Ypsilanti that helps disadvantaged women throughout the Detroit metropolitan area by providing them interview suits, and once they've landed a job, a week's worth of business attire. The DTE Energy event is in support of a national Dress for Success clothing drive called "S.O.S - Send One Suit." DTE Energy volunteers will be accepting all sizes of new and "gently used" women's suits, shirts and blouses - on hangers and covered with a plastic bag, if possible. Shoes and accessories also will be welcomed. Making a donation will be easy. Donors simply need to drive up to the entrance of DTE Energy's headquarters lobby and volunteers will come right out to their cars to take their contributions. DTE Energy's headquarters lobby is located at One Energy Plaza, Detroit. The entrance is located off of Bagley Avenue, between First Street and Third Street.
