She will provide leadership and assist in the formation of corporate strategy, including all aspects of government relations, and will advise corporate leaders regarding legislative policy initiatives. Hopper will serve as a liaison to the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. federal government and will direct and promote legislative initiatives and policies in the interest of SRA. Hopper has over 20 years of government affairs experience at the federal level. She most recently served as Battelle's Director of Government Relations, responsible for communicating and representing the company's national security, homeland security, and NASA programs before the U.S. Congress. Prior to joining Battelle, Hopper served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where she oversaw the House of Representatives for Secretary William S. Cohen. As a registered lobbyist for United Technologies Corporation from 1992 to 1999, Hopper communicated the company's defense and space programs to the Congress.
