Suppliers solve complex business and technology issues - NEW YORK,
May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Satyam Computer Services, Ltd. (NYSE:SAY), a
leading global consulting and information technology services
company, announced today that Alpna J. Doshi, a vice president in
its Telecommunications, Media and Entertainment Practice, has been
appointed to a second consecutive year-long term as chair of the
TeleManagement Forum's Systems Integrator Committee. "Alpna's
appointment for a second term demonstrates the Committee's high
regard for her performance, as well as its recognition of Satyam as
a credible, powerful industry leader," said T.R. Anand, director
and senior vice president of Satyam's Telecom, Infrastructure,
Media and Entertainment, and Semiconductors Group. "The Committee
comprises representatives from the world's leading systems
integrators and suppliers, as well as operators with integration
interests -- companies such as Accenture, Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T,
and IBM -- so this is indeed a tremendous honor." TMF's Systems
Integrator Committee serves as focal point for "ecosystem" issues.
It also provides direction to companies facing implementation
problems, and is a useful resource for numerous chief technology
officers. In addition, it addresses strategic new areas for
operators, like migration and conformance testing, and ensures that
its own initiatives align with the increasing convergence of the
telecom and media industries. Moreover, it creates synergies among
global integrators by promoting widespread adoption of standards.
"Alpna is a great asset for the TeleManagement Forum, and brings
tremendous expertise and commitment to the organization," said
Keith Willets, TMF's chairman of the board. "She also demonstrates
exceptional leadership in her role as chairperson of the Forum's
Systems Integrator Committee." During Doshi's first term, TMF made
significant progress with its representative organizations. Under
her leadership, the committee helped numerous large integrators
bring forth common concerns and find innovative solutions to them.
At the same time, she kept abreast of the interests of suppliers
and operators, such as British Telecom, Telstra, and Vodafone,
among others. "I am pleased to be appointed to this prestigious
post again," Doshi said. "It is an honor to serve as a voice for
systems integrators, and I look forward to helping them align their
capabilities with buyers' requirements. Additionally, I am
especially proud of the progress TMF has made on media/telecom
convergence issues, and in accommodating global operators'
technology and business needs. I am eager to make that progress
continue for media/telecom and entertainment companies, and am
pleased I can count on Satyam's capabilities as a key SI player for
support." Doshi, who also serves on TMF's Finance Committee and
Operator Committee, is inviting other telecom operators from India
with strong systems integration interests to participate in the SI
Committee, and will encourage them to play an active role. About
