Skains, Chairman, President and CEO of Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE:
PNY) today announced the retirement of John
W. Harris from the Board effective March 25, 2014. Mr. Harris, a longtime
business leader in the Charlotte
region with far-ranging business interests and a long history of
civic service, has decided to retire from the Board in order to
devote more time to his other business and civic activities. Mr.
Harris has been a member of Piedmont's Board since 1997 and is currently
the Chair of the Board's Finance Committee and is also a member of
the Board's Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr.
Harris has also served as Chair of the Board's Compensation
Committee.
Upon Mr. Harris' retirement, Mr. Skains commented, "Johnny has
