O-I Appoints Chief Financial Officer TOLEDO, Ohio, March 18
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Owens-Illinois, Inc., (NYSE:OI) today
announced that Edward C. White has been named chief financial
officer, succeeding Thomas L. Young. "We are pleased to have an
executive with Ed's breadth and experience ready to assume this key
leadership role in the firm. His in-depth understanding of our
global business, customers, markets, strategy, core priorities, and
organization will ensure a seamless transition for O-I," said Steve
McCracken, O-I Chairman and CEO. "Ed will bring continuity to O-I's
financial turnaround and transformation strategies which will
enable a continued focus on near-term execution, with particular
emphasis on ongoing efforts to complete the integration and synergy
work in Europe." Ed joined O-I in 1973 and has held several key
assignments in the financial area including corporate controller
and senior vice president of finance and administration as well as
roles in commercial and operational functions. In 1999, Ed was
elected a corporate officer of the Company and in 2003 was promoted
to senior vice president of the Company. Most recently, Ed served
as director of sales and marketing for Europe, after a period of
