FREMONT, CA today announced that leading systems integrator InfraScience, LLC has selected NET's VX Series switches to showcase its Microsoft unified communications (UC) capabilities to its current customers and prospects.

InfraScience selected NET's VX Series VoIP intelligent gateways because of their superior interoperability with its customers' diverse telephony environments, as well as other exceptional functionality offered by the products -- including high-performance call processing, robust standards-based security, and tight integration with Microsoft Active Directory.

InfraScience offers telecommunication consulting services that integrate collaborative applications like Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS) and Exchange 2007 into enterprise networks. NET and InfraScience will work closely together to offer high-ROI Microsoft UC solutions to customers in both the private and public sectors.

"After a thorough evaluation of the market's top vendors, it was clear that NET offers the most robust and adaptable hardware infrastructure for Microsoft UC implementations," said James Williams, Practice Leader of InfraScience's Unified Communications Solutions Group. "By working with NET, InfraScience can offer customers rapid, cost-effective access to the full range of business benefits that result from the integration of desktop computing and telephony."

InfraScience's showcase, which also serves as the office's communication network, features Microsoft's OCS and Exchange providing both UC and Unified Messaging (UM). This business critical deployment demonstrates full feature calling with Office Communicator clients, OCS compatible TanJay phones and standard SIP phones. The NET VX is used to support intelligent connectivity of Microsoft UC to the non-Microsoft elements of the network including the standard SIP phones and the telephone network. The NET VX not only addresses the voice telephony integration, but also enables the support of fax within the UM platform.

"InfraScience possesses the technical skills and practical experience that customers need to ensure the successful outcome of their convergence initiatives," said Chuck Rutledge, NET's Vice President of Marketing. "We look forward to working closely with them to promote the adoption of VX Series intelligent VoIP gateways and Microsoft UC solutions across multiple market segments."
