“America is home to spectacular people, places and things that
have a cultural impact across the world,” said Martine Reardon,
Macy’s chief marketing officer. “In bringing back our American
Icons campaign, we’re proud to again join the celebration of all
things America – offering our customers specially-curated fashion,
family-oriented events and an opportunity to support America’s
veterans.”
Give Back. Get Back. – Got Your
6
Macy’s is showing its support for those who have served our
country by partnering with one of the nation’s most innovative
veteran empowerment initiatives, Got Your 6. In the military, "got
your six" is a term that means "I've got your back.” Uniting the
resources of the entertainment industry with a coalition of more
than 30 veteran-focused, nonprofit partners, Got Your 6 is
dedicated to improving veteran reintegration, celebrating veterans
as leaders and civic assets, and putting their skills to work at
home. The coalition focuses on six pillars of reintegration—jobs,
education, health, housing, family and leadership, with a goal to
change the conversation around America’s millions of military
veterans.
To support Got Your 6 and its nonprofit partners, Macy’s is
kicking off a nationwide campaign to support those who have served
our country with “Got Your 6 Saturday” on Saturday, May 17. During
“Got Your 6 Saturday,” shoppers can give $3 at any register and get
25 percent off all day, plus enjoy exciting events in store.
Customers who miss “Got Your 6” Saturday can still support
America’s veterans from May 18 through May 26, by making a donation
at the register to receive a savings pass for a 20 percent discount
on select regular, sale and clearance apparel for him, her and kids
and extra 15 percent on all sale, clearance, select regular-priced
home items, shoes, coats, suits, dresses, intimates, men's suit
separates and sportcoats, fine and fashion jewelry and watches.
Note that some exclusions and restrictions apply. One hundred
percent of the $3 donation will be donated to Got Your 6 and its
nonprofit partners to empower returning veterans and military
families. Visit macys.com/gotyour6 for more information.
