Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) was selected by
Southern Peru Copper Corporation (SPCC) to provide engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) services for its No. 1 Acid
Plant upgrade project. SPCC operates one of the world’s largest

Under the terms of this lump sum EPC contract, Jacobs will

production capacity through the use of Jacobs’ proprietary
Chemetics sulphuric acid technology.
“Our successful relationship with Southern Peru Copper

two existing plants our teams previously executed at the site, to
further reduce SO2 emissions.”
In addition to the No. 1 Acid Plant project, Jacobs is
performing a feasibility study for SPCC in Lima for its power
distribution system that will enable the company to support future
demand.
