CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 26, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goodrich Corporation's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) campus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, continues to add new customers and enhance its product and service offerings to customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In 2009, Goodrich added electronic engine control accessories capability to its Dubai MRO campus. The capability covers all electronic engine controls for Rolls-Royce Trent 500, 700 and 800 powered aircraft, such as the Airbus A330 and A340, and Boeing 777. Also in 2009, Emirates chose Goodrich in Dubai to perform evacuation system MRO services for the airline's fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft. Joel Haldemann, vice president of MRO for EMEA at Goodrich, said, "We are positive about the future for our services in Dubai for several reasons. There still are a significant number of aircraft on order for delivery to the region, airlines are receiving new aircraft, and there is an influx of new low-cost operators to the area. Our aftermarket strategy is to be close to our customers, and for this reason Goodrich became one of the first original equipment manufacturers to locate MRO services in Dubai. It was the right move." The Goodrich MRO campus in Dubai, opened in 2007, offers a full range of MRO and support services for components and systems for both commercial and military aerospace customers in EMEA. The campus service offerings include nacelle systems, cargo systems, de-icing systems, engine controls, rescue hoists and winches, sensor systems and aircraft evacuation systems. The campus also delivers asset stocking and management services to support AOG and other critical requirements. Experts from Goodrich's Dubai campus will be at MRO Middle East, February 28 - March 1, 2010 at the Dubai Airport Expo Centre in booth 205.
