Isabel BALTIMORE, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Baltimore Gas
and Electric Company (BGE), a subsidiary of Constellation Energy
(NYSE:CEG), today announced the appointment of Stephen J. Woerner
to the position of vice president of electric transmission and
distribution. Woerner succeeds Mark P. Huston, who has been named
chief operating officer for Constellation Energy's retail energy
subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, North America's largest
provider of competitive electricity to commercial customers. In his
new role, Woerner will be responsible for planning, engineering,
design, construction, operations and maintenance activities
associated with the utility's electric transmission and
distribution system as well as substations. He will also serve as
BGE's executive responsible for storm and emergency restoration
activities. "Steve is a proven leader and highly experienced
utility professional who possesses both the technical and strategic
vision necessary for success," said Kenneth W. DeFontes, Jr.,
president of BGE. "One of Steve's greatest strengths is his ability
to lead a diverse and complex organization with an unwavering
commitment to safety and a passion for operational excellence in
serving our customers. This ability was clearly evident in the fall
of 2003 when Steve led BGE's power restoration efforts in the wake
of Hurricane Isabel, which left more than 790,000 customers without
electricity. Steve's leadership was a key enabler in ensuring a
safe and responsive restoration effort during one of the utility's
most challenging times. I'm extremely pleased that Steve will be
returning to lead such a critical area of the business for both the
utility and its customers." Woerner began his career with BGE in
