Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Employee Fatally Injured in Vehicle Accident in Louisiana

Veteran Employee Volunteered for Hurricane Rita Power Restoration
Effort BALTIMORE, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Baltimore Gas and
Electric Company (BGE), a subsidiary of Constellation Energy
(NYSE:CEG), today announced that a 38-year-old overhead crew leader
with 18 years of service was killed earlier today as a result of an
automobile accident in Louisiana, near the Mississippi border. A
second employee, a 32-year-old overhead lineman with three years of
service, suffered minor injuries. The employees were part of a
larger group of BGE employees which departed Saturday in response
to Hurricane Rita. "It is difficult to express the deep sadness
that all of us in the BGE family are feeling at this moment," said
Kenneth W. DeFontes Jr., president of BGE. "We were extremely
grateful when all of our employees who responded to Hurricane
Katrina returned home safely, but now, with Hurricane Rita, we are
reminded of the very real dangers that exist with such assignments.

Since late August, more than 350 BGE employees and contractors have
assisted with electric service restoration in Louisiana,
