Eni, Chevron, CPC Desire Developing Iraq Nasiriyah Field-Report

BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Italy's Eni (E), the U.S.-based
Chevron (CVX), and China's CPC have expressed their desire to
develop the Nasiriyah oilfield in Iraq's Dhi Qar province after the
withdrawal of Japan's Nippon Oil Corp. from the project, pan-Arab
Asharq Al Awsat daily reports Wednesday citing an official..
Nippon Oil, which qualified for the project in the technical and
commercial offer that it submitted in 2009, withdrew from the
project after the talks reached a dead end, Abdul Mahdi Al Amidi,
director general of the contracts and licenses department at the
Iraqi oil ministry, said according to the paper.
