NAACP Launches Unique Interactive, Multimedia Timeline on Feb. 16 to bring Black History to Life; Timeline Narrated by Actor Lau

NEW YORK, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The NAACP and the Verizon
Foundation will unveil on Tuesday (Feb. 16) a multimedia Web site
featuring the story of the civil rights organization and the first
interactive timeline of black history. The event, which will begin
at 3 p.m. EST, includes a virtual webinar, tour of the Web site,
and a question-and-answer session with NAACP leaders and
historians, and Verizon Foundation leaders. The Web site, the NAACP
Interactive Historical Timeline, is funded through a $500,000 grant
from the Verizon Foundation and is being launched in conjunction
with Black History Month, which is observed in February. Resources
from the NAACP timeline will also be made available to teachers,
students and parents through Verizon Thinkfinity
