Gears of War, a sci-fi shooter published by Microsoft Game
Studios, was named GameSpot Readers Choice Game of the Year for
2006 by users of GameSpot (www.gamespot.com), a leading video game
web site and a property of CNET Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:CNET). The
Readers Choiceaward winners were determined by millions of votes
cast by GameSpot users and are a follow-up to sites annual
editorial awards for which Gears of War was also selected as game
of the year. Nothing ignites a more spirited debate among all of
us than a year-end Best of list. Our audience of avid gamers
loves to speak their mind about the games theyre playing and do so
24-7 on our site, said Josh Larson, GameSpot site director.
GameSpots Readers Choice award program is their annual
opportunity to formally recognize their absolute favorites of the
year, and millions jump at the chance to be a part of the fun.
