XFMedia Provides Channel Packaging Services to CCTV Olympics Channel
February 11 2008 - 6:44AM
PR Newswire (US)
BEIJING, Feb. 11 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China's leading
diversified financial media group Xinhua Finance Media ("XFMedia",
Nasdaq: XFML), announced today that its Production Group has
completed a project with CCTV's Sports Channel to revamp its
channel image in time for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games this
summer. The Sports Channel of China Central Television (better
known as CCTV5), which re-branded itself the CCTV Olympics Channel
as from January 1, 2008, is the only officially authorized
China-based broadcaster for the Beijing Olympic Games. As a
long-term service provider for CCTV5, XFMedia's Production Group
provided repositioning services for the channel, including the
development, graphic design and production of the branding and
image of the channel. In total, 16 trailers and bumpers have been
produced for Olympic-related shows, news programs and event
broadcasts, some of which have already been aired. Trailers are
typically short advertisements for a program or short film strips
that are shown at the beginning and end of a program. Bumpers are
short graphics broadcast for a few seconds between programs that
identify and self- advertise the channel. In addition, XFMedia's
Production Group helped create other channel identity elements such
as animation, iconographies, titles and on-screen logos. "We are
delighted to provide channel repositioning services for CCTV5 and
to play a role in a world-class event such as the Olympics," said
Ms. Fredy Bush, XFMedia's CEO. "It is a tribute to our capabilities
to be selected. It is exciting to know that our designs will be
seen by billions of people around the world." During the fourth
quarter of 2007, XFMedia also provided brand-building, logo design
and animation services to other top television channels in China
including the worldwide English-speaking channel CCTV 9 and the
nationwide Travel Channel, key provincial satellite channels such
as Tianjin Satellite TV, Jiangsu Satellite TV and Xinjiang
Satellite TV, and popular local channels including Chengdu TV,
Chengdu Economic Information and Service Channel, Chengdu Film, TV
and Art Channel, and Shenzhen Shopping Channel. XFMedia has won a
number of awards for its production services. Recently in November
2007, one of its subsidiaries under the Production Group was named
Top 100 of the 2007 Cultural & Creative Industry Yearly Award,
along with other winners such as Shanda Entertainment, Sina.com,
Focus Media, Hunan Satellite TV, and Sohu.com. The Yearly Award was
jointly presented by Guanghua Foundation and the Committee of the
2nd China (Beijing) International Cultural & Creative Industry
Expo held by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television,
General Administration of Press and Publication, P.R .C. and the
People's Government of Beijing Municipality. XFMedia's Production
Group produces a diverse array of quality programming, animated
