results of its exclusive rankings of the top investment banks, law
firms, and PR advisers engaged in private equity transactions
globally in The Deal's inaugural Private Equity League Tables. Data
collected captures advisers to target/seller and acquirer/bidder
companies involving transactions announced between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2016.

navigated an environment of volatile equity and debt markets. Going

League Table highlights:
- Among investment banks, Barclays Capital topped the list with
20 PE deals, evenly representing sellers and bidders. Jefferies LLC
and Lazard Ltd. tied for second with 18 deals. 15 of Jefferies'
deals involved representing the target. Lazard acted as banker to
ten sellers and eight buyers. Rothschild and PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP finished third and fourth with 15, and 14 deals
respectively.
- Among law firms, Kirkland & Ellis LLP was the top counsel
to companies, with 53 deals, in 40 of which it represented the
acquirer. Latham & Watkins LLP was second with 29 deals, and
Goodwin Procter LLP and Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett LLP ranked
third each with 24 deals. DLA Piper finished fifth on the list,
with 21 deals.
- Among PR firms involved in private equity transactions, Kekst
and Co., was first with 11 transactions, in seven of which it
represented acquirers. Sard Verbinnen & Co. recorded 10
transactions evenly representing sellers and acquirers.
Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer
Katcher and Owen Blicksilver Public Relations, Inc., tied for third
each with nine transactions. Rounding up the top five, Brunswick
Group LLP was involved in eight transactions.
