Infortrend® (TPE: 2495), the networked storage expert, and STEC, Inc. (NASDAQ: STEC), a leading global provider of solid-state drive (SSD) technologies and products, today announced that storage solutions in Infortrend's ESVA, EonStor DS and EonNAS product families are now available with STEC MACH16® SSDs. Featuring excellent performance and reliability characteristics, these SSDs allow users of Infortrend storage systems to easily meet the requirements of mission-critical applications.

ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture) offers high-performance SAN storage solutions ideal for mid-range enterprises. EonStor DS is Infortrend's entry-level storage solution for SMBs, providing reliable hardware and comprehensive data protection for SAN and DAS environments. EonNAS features unified storage solutions to help SMBs and mid-range enterprises efficiently deal with file-based and block-based applications.

Thomas Kao, director of product planning at Infortrend, noted, "The advantages of deploying SSDs in storage arrays are well known, and include increased performance and better protection against system vibrations. Within the SSD space, STEC's MACH16 SSD offerings provide superior performance levels and enterprise-class reliability that truly meet our customers' requirements. By offering support for MACH16 drives throughout Infortrend's product line-up, mid-range enterprises and SMBs working with SAN, DAS or NAS configurations can all take advantage of these powerful SSDs."

Scott Stetzer, vice president of technical marketing at STEC, said, "We are pleased to partner with Infortrend to enable data centers of different sizes to achieve the performance levels they require. Our MACH16 SSDs deliver a superior combination of Read and Write performance, reduced power usage, reliability and endurance making them a cost-effective and ideal solution for accelerating applications in server platforms, and accelerating access to data in NAS/DAS boxes and storage arrays. The qualification of our MACH16 SSDs into Infortrend solutions serves as another example of how STEC is helping proliferate SSD usage and bring world-class performance to mid-range enterprises and SMBs, not just to high-end enterprises."

MACH16 SSDs available for Infortrend solutions include SLC (Single-Level Cell) models with capacities of 100GB and 200GB and performance of up to 26,000 IOPS. Sustained data transfer rates can reach up to 250MB/s (Read) and 180MB/s (Write). Infortrend storage systems supporting STEC MACH16 SSDs include: all ESVA systems; small-form-factor models in the EonStor DS family (accommodating 2.5-inch drives) featuring 6Gb/s SAS drive-side connectivity; and all EonNAS 3000 Series systems.
