STEC Achieves Expanded Qualifications and Integrates MACH16(TM) SSDs Across Infortrend's Full Range of Storage Families
October 18 2011 - 9:25AM
STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEC), The SSD Company™, a leading global
provider of solid-state drive (SSD) technologies and products,
today announced that it has extended its partnership with
Taiwanese-based Infortrend, the networked storage expert, to
incorporate STEC's popular MACH16™ SSDs across a full range of
Infortrend storage systems. The combination of enterprise-class
MACH16 SSDs in Infortrend's ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualized
Architecture), EonStor DS and EonNAS 3000 Series product families,
enables data centers of all sizes to achieve superior access
performance, enhanced reliability and endurance, and cost-effective
capacity that is required to support today's mission-critical,
throughput-intensive applications.
These qualifications are follow-on achievements to the
successful ZeusIOPS® SSD qualifications by STEC into Infortrend's
ESVA systems last year. Now with a complete set of platform SSD
qualifications supporting ESVA, EonStor DS and EonNAS 3000 Series
product families, STEC significantly broadens the performance,
capacity and interface offerings available to Infortrend
customers.
"The region that Infortrend services is strategic and continues
to have robust demand for high-performance, cost-effective storage
technologies," said Scott Stetzer, STEC's Vice President of
Technical Marketing. "The qualification of our MACH16 SSDs into
Infortrend storage solutions serves as another example of how STEC
is bringing world-class performance and value to mid-range
enterprises and small-to-medium-sized businesses across the globe,
not just to high-end data centers. The Asia-Pacific region
represents another area of dynamic growth for us."
"We are very excited about realizing the potential of this
market with a partner like STEC and the stage is set for further
cooperation by the companies in the future. MACH16 SSDs provide
superior performance levels and enterprise-class reliability that
truly exceeds our customers' requirements," said Thomas Kao,
Infortrend's Director of Product Planning. "By offering support for
MACH16 drives throughout Infortrend's storage systems line-up,
mid-range enterprises and SMBs working with SAN, DAS or NAS
configurations can all take advantage of these powerful SSDs."
STEC MACH16 SSDs available for Infortrend storage solutions
include models that support multiple capacities, up to 26,000
input/output operations per second (IOPS) performance, up to
250MB/s of sustainable sequential Read speed, up to 180MB/s of
sustainable sequential Write speed, and STEC's full data path
protection. MACH16 SSDs also feature STEC's unique flash management
technologies, CellCare™ and Secure Array of Flash Elements™, that
enable this class of SSDs to deliver even better performance and
endurance, while reducing power usage.
STEC MACH16 SSDs are now available on the following Infortrend
storage systems – http://infortrend.com/global/Home:
