Segue Announces SilkCentral(TM) -- an Innovative Platform that
Optimizes Software Quality SilkCentral Integrates Existing and New
Silk Products Into a Cohesive Quality Assurance Platform LEXINGTON,
Mass., April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Segue Software, Inc. ,
the leaders in software quality optimization, today advanced and
extended its Silk product line into a new quality optimization
platform. SilkCentral(TM) is designed to centralize control and
management of software quality throughout the entire software
application lifecycle. SilkCentral serves as the foundation for
Segue's technology direction and incorporates all of the existing
Silk family of products, as well as those from other companies,
into one cohesive platform. The underlying foundation of
SilkCentral is the Silk Common Architecture(TM) (SCA), providing a
set of common services and interfaces that enable the various
SilkCentral modules to integrate with other Silk products and/or
third party tools. SilkCentral consists of three product modules
which span the application lifecycle: SilkCentral Test Manager(TM),
for overall management of the pre-deployment testing effort;
SilkCentral Issue Manager(TM), for the tracking and reporting of
defects; and SilkCentral Performance Manager(TM), for the on-going
monitoring of applications, post deployment. Segue's complete Silk
product line is fully integrated into the various components of
SilkCentral, each product serving as an engine to drive a specific
quality function within the platform. Functional testing and load
testing is provided by Segue's flagship products, SilkTest(R) and
SilkPerformer(R), respectively. Modules can be installed
individually or combined to realize the full efficiencies of
software quality resources and processes. Additionally, the open
interfaces provided by the SilkCentral platform also allow third
party applications to be driven by SilkCentral and to supply
quality-related data to the SilkCentral repository and reporting
