Ryan's Restaurant Group, Inc. Reports Sales Results for April 2005 GREER, S.C., May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ryan's Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:RYAN) today reported sales results for the 5-week period ending May 4, 2005 ("April"). Same-store sales for April decreased by 4.9%. Other details and comments follow: (Unaudited) April 2005 Total sales (000's) $81,700 Change from prior year -2% Average unit sales: Same stores (open at least 18 mos.) -4.9% All stores (includes new units) -4.5% Management noted that Easter Sunday occurred in April during 2004 and in March during 2005. Easter Sunday is always a high sales day, and when it occurs in different months, its inclusion or exclusion increases or decreases same-store sales results, respectively. The following table restates same- store results for March and April 2005 by excluding the week that includes Easter in column (2): Same-Store Sales (1) (2) As Excluding Reported Easter Week March 2005 -2.9% -3.8% April 2005 -4.9% -3.7% Management also noted that average unit sales for Easter Day 2005 (March 27th) were up 2.2% compared to Easter Day 2004 (April 11th).
