Northwest Airlines Reports December Traffic EAGAN, Minn., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines (NASDAQ:NWAC) today announced a systemwide December load factor of 78.2 percent, 0.1 points above December 2003. Northwest flew 6.17 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.89 billion available seat miles (ASMs) in December 2004, a traffic increase of 7.7 percent and a capacity increase of 7.6 percent versus December 2003. For the full year 2004, Northwest announced a systemwide load factor of 80.2 percent, 2.9 points above 2003. Northwest flew 73.31 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 91.38 billion available seat miles (ASMs) in 2004, a traffic increase of 7.1 percent and a capacity increase of 3.1 percent versus 2003. For the full year 2004, Northwest's mainline passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) improved approximately 7 percent versus 2003.
