MARKET OVERVIEW Overseas markets are pretty much mixed as 7 of the
15 markets that we track are currently higher with the average
cumulative return standing at positive 0.149 percent. European
markets are lower thanks to some weak earnings and higher oil. It's
another busy day of earnings announcements today, with the major
names reporting before the bell. On the economic front, at 8:30
a.m. the weekly initial jobless claims should come in at 330,000,
above the prior 319,000. The U.S. Dollar Index tumbled 0.69 points,
closing right at its 10 day moving average. Not surprisingly, the
old greenback fell versus every currency that we track. The
weakness can be attributed in one word -- "China." Next week the
Group of Seven (G7) is going to meet and China is looking at
discussing floating its currency, the Yuan, versus the dollar.
Currently the Yuan is pegged to the dollar. President Bush
encouraged China on Wednesday to move toward a more flexible
currency policy. It's beginning to get exciting in the currency
pits and the next few weeks could provide a good deal of movement
due to global events. Be prepared for the investing week ahead with

DYNAMIC MARKET OPPORTUNITIES With a December slowdown in US
existing home sales, some economists and commentators took the news
at face value and again boldly declared an end to the housing
market boom. Such negative predictions have appeared numerous times
over the past three years or so - and always seem to be premature.
Figures from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) did indeed
show that existing home sales slowed by 3.3% in December, compared
with November, as buying slumped 7.2% in the West and 4.2% in the
South. But those like the financial commentators and investment
experts at the Baltimore-based 247Profits Group received some extra
fuel for their argument that states the housing boom is still alive
and well, with the news that existing home sales remarkably notched
up the fourth straight record year. Sales hit 6.68 million units
over the 6.1 million posted in 2003 - a 9.5% gain. New home sales
are also expected to have set a record in 2004. The figure is due
out before the end of January. The NAR expects 2005 to be another
solid year, with sales expected to rise to the second-highest on
record. Much of the reason for that emanates from 30-year mortgage
rates around 5.7% - below the 6% that economists consider a
historically low rate, and well under the 7% mark seen by many as
the level that could put a strain on home sales. NAR estimates call
for rates to reach 6.5% by the end of the year. But with rising
sales come rising prices. The substantial 8% jump last year meant
the average price of a US home stood at US$184,100 - the biggest
annual climb since 1980. Receive incisive economic/market
