TARRYTOWN, N.Y., May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kraft Foods,
the maker of iconic food and beverage brands, announces today the
launch of Capri Sun Super V, a new refreshing
fruit & vegetable juice drink that kids will enjoy and moms
will feel good about serving. The new ready-to-drink beverage,
which comes in the popular Capri Sun pouch, contains a
combined serving of fruits and vegetables (3/4 from fruit juice and
1/4 from vegetable juice) and is a good source of fiber, offering a
perfect blend of nutrition, great taste and "kid cool."
Capri Sun Super V is every mom's secret weapon, providing
them with another choice to offer their kids, while secretly
pursuing their on-going mission to get them to eat the recommended
daily amount of fruits and vegetables. In three fruity
flavors that taste so good, kids will never know it's
nutritious. Super V makes Mom look like a hero since Capri
Sun is inherently "cool" and a drink that kids ask for by
name.
Capri Sun knew the need. Statistics show that children
are not consuming a sufficient amount of fruits and vegetables each
day. The US Dietary Guidelines recommends four servings of
fruit and five servings of vegetables for a 2,000 Calorie
diet. Less than 50 percent of children in the US are eating
these recommended amounts for fruits or vegetables(1).
Additionally, according to the US Dietary Guidelines, fiber is a
nutrient of concern for most people, including kids. Capri
Sun is listening. This new drink also is fortified to be
a good source of fiber, providing 10% of the recommended Daily
Value. Each six-ounce pouch contains one combined serving of
fruits and vegetables, consisting of 75% fruit juice and 25%
vegetable juice. (Be sure to make the most of your whole
fruits and vegetables. See CHOOSEMYPLATE.GOV for
information on healthy eating.) Capri Sun Super V is
available in three fun flavors kids will enjoy – Fruit Punch, Berry
and Apple.
"We heard from moms that they were constantly in search of fun
and delicious ways to get their kids to eat fruits and vegetables,"
said Wilfred de Guzman, Brand
Manager, Capri Sun. "With no artificial colors,
flavors or preservatives and a good source of antioxidant vitamins
A, C and E, Super V comes to the rescue."
The Capri Sun line of beverages also includes four other
kid favorites:
- Original Capri Sun, with 25% less sugar than leading
regular juice drinks and a good source of Vitamin E
- Capri Sun 100% Juice is all-natural, 100% Juice
that contains 1-1/2 servings of fruit (according to the US Dietary
Guidelines)
- Capri Sun Sunrise, with 100% daily value of
vitamin C and a good source of calcium
- Capri Sun Roarin' Waters, a low-calorie fruit-flavored
water beverage with no artificial colors or ingredients
Starting in May 2012, Capri

supermarkets nationwide. Suggested retail price for pack of 10
pouches is $3.48.
