Long Time Board Member Brings Tremendous Banking and Finance
Experience to New Role DENVER, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:FRNT) today announced that D. Dale
Browning has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Frontier
Airlines Holdings, Inc. The announcement followed a special
election held by the Board after Frontier's annual shareholder's
meeting today. Browning has served on the Frontier Airlines
Holdings, Inc. Board since 1996 in various capacities including
Chairman of the Compensation Committee and as Chairman of the Audit
Committee for the past four years. Browning will take over his new
role from long-time board chair Sam Addoms who announced his
retirement earlier this year. Browning's experience in banking and
finance is extensive. Browning joined Colorado National bank in
1966 and became President and CEO from 1985 until 1992 when it was
acquired by US Bank. At the time of the acquisition, Colorado
National Bank was the second largest bank holding company in the
state of Colorado. Concurrent with his tenure at Colorado National,
Browning also served as President of Rocky Mountain Bank Card
Systems and as founder and President of Plus System. A subsidiary
of Colorado National Bank, Rocky Mountain Bank Card Systems was
founded in 1969 and processed credit card transactions for over 600
banks in the Western US. Browning founded Plus System, an
international shared ATM network, in 1982 and was integrated into
Visa International in 1993. Browning then spent the following two
years with Visa International as a senior consultant working on the
development of debit card products for Asia and Europe. Following
his tenure with Visa International, Browning became the CEO of
corporate credit card transaction processing company, Procard.
Procard, an early pioneer in the move to online transaction
processing and tracking, offered corporations the ability to track
and view online purchases made by employees with corporate credit
cards. As president and CEO of Procard, Browning partnered the
Company with Synovis in 2000, and remained president and CEO of
Procard for the next two years. "It would be very difficult to find
a more strategic and financially intuitive leader for this board,
and for Frontier, than Dale Browning," said Addoms. "Dale knows
this Company well and has been with Frontier from the very early
stages of its growth, guiding it with aptitude and insight that has
been invaluable. While I will certainly miss my involvement with
the tremendous group of leaders on the Board, I am completely
confident that I am leaving them and Frontier in the very best
hands possible as the Company moves forward with its next phase of
strategic growth." "There is no contention that Sam Addoms is a
hard act to follow," added Browning. "However, the greatest
compliment I can pay him is that he has left me with a board that
is talented, diverse, engaged and strategic. Most importantly, the
board and I are truly optimistic about the future of this company,
particularly in light of the numerous strategic initiatives we are
currently undertaking. I am honored to serve as the Chairman of the
Board, and I am confident that with the road map the talented
management of this Company has laid out before us, together we can
lead this Company to profitability and ultimately to sustained
success." About Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. Frontier Airlines
