LAS VEGAS, NV , a worldwide leader in media management and ultra
wideband (UWB) wireless technology, introduced today the MM-1
Universal Media Manager(TM), a powerful application that makes it
easy to create and distribute media to out-of-home networks for a
variety of applications such as information display, digital
signage, retail television, as well as private corporate,
hospitality, and government television networks. Focus Enhancements
will demonstrate MM-1 and other media solutions at NAB 2008 from
April 14-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth SL2605.
"MM-1 Universal Media Manager offers enterprise level
performance at an all-inclusive price point that we believe will be
attractive to our customers," said Michael Conway, senior vice
president of corporate strategy for Focus Enhancements. "Most
importantly, it addresses the top two requests from our integrators
-- extreme ease of use and full support for popular compressed HD
media formats."
MM-1 Universal Media Manager is a store-and-forward system that
operates over broadband IP networks. The fully modular system
enables users to:
-- Import, preview, and trim media clips
-- Design compelling dynamic signage with objects like backgrounds, video
Picture-in-Picture (PIP), and still images
-- Support RSS feeds, multiple text crawls, ODBC data and embedded HTML
display
-- Create channels, playlists, and schedules within minutes
-- Monitor their media network in real time with manual or automatic
status checks
MM-1 supports over thirty types of audio, image, video, and data
formats, including 3GPP Mobile, Apple QuickTime, H.264/AVC-1,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Flash, and live video inputs via VFW or
WDM-compatible hardware encoder cards.
Pricing & Availability
MM-1 Universal Media Manager is expected to be available in
Summer 2008 through authorized Focus Enhancements dealers and
integrators for a suggested price of $4,999 (US) for the server
application, and $1,199 (US) for player software. The MM-1 server
and player applications run on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, 2003 or
Vista. Some media formats may require third party codecs that are
not included with Microsoft Windows. Microsoft PowerPoint is
