Endwave and Nokia Networks Announce Multi-Year, Multi-Million Dollar Supply Agreement - Re-Release Endwave Transceivers to Power Nokia's Cellular Transmission Networks in Europe and Asia SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Endwave Corporation , a leading provider of radio frequency (RF) subsystems for carrier-class, broadband wireless access and cellular backhaul networks, announced the execution of a follow-on contract with Nokia Networks for the production of Endwave's current and next-generation transceivers. These transceivers are used as the core RF module for Nokia's FlexiHopper(TM) and FlexiHopper Plus(TM) microwave radios. The FlexiHopper(TM) system is designed for use in cellular networks deployed in Europe and Asia. Endwave's transceivers seamlessly integrate with Nokia's FlexiHopper(TM) family of microwave radios, combining the high frequency transmit and receive functions of a radio system into a single package. Once integrated within the radio, these modules enable significantly increased spectral efficiency as compared with previous designs. This new contract is a two year follow-on to the previous multi-year agreement between the companies that concluded on December 31, 2003 and covers sixteen separate modules over four frequency bands. Further, this production agreement covers both the current transceiver design and the next-generation transceiver disclosed in the previously announced development agreement between the companies. "This follow-on production agreement solidifies our position as the leading supplier of next-generation cellular-transmission subsystems," said Ed Keible, CEO and President of Endwave Corporation. "Our volume manufacturing capability coupled with our high-frequency design expertise is enabling leading system integrators such as Nokia to meet the growing demand for higher bandwidth cellular infrastructure and more robust mobile Internet connectivity." "The performance, quality, and ease of integration of Nokia's FlexiHopper(TM) family of microwave radios contributes significantly to our capability to quickly deploy reliable cellular networks, which is crucial for our operator customers," said Risto Valtonen, General Manager, Cellular Transmission Business at Nokia Networks. "We chose Endwave because of our excellent long-standing relationship, along with their advanced technology and high-volume manufacturing capability to produce superior, customized transceivers for our FlexiHopper(TM) family of radios." Endwave originally released this announcement on January 21, 2004. Corrections shown in this re-release reflect the proper title for Mr. Risto Valtonen, as well as specific text surrounding Nokia radio deployments that are targeted primarily at Europe and Asia.
