CDW Corporation (NASDAQ:CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced average daily sales for August 2006 were $26.964 million, an increase of 7.5 percent compared to average daily sales of $25.076 million for August 2005. Total sales for August 2006 were $620.2 million, an increase of 7.5 percent compared to total sales of $576.8 million for August 2005. Average daily sales for the public sector segment increased 23.9 percent and average daily sales for the corporate sector segment decreased 0.2 percent compared to the prior year period. As previously announced, in the first half of 2006, the Company realigned its corporate sector account managers serving medium and large customer accounts into five geographic regions. A significant number of customer accounts were transferred among corporate account managers due to the geographic realignment. The investment of account managers' time to further develop these customer relationships affected corporate sector sales growth in August 2006. The Company firmly believes that the geographic realignment of the corporate sector will provide long-term benefits including the enhanced ability to serve customers, drive new business, maximize account coverage, create additional ownership and accountability for the medium and large business sales teams, and align geographically with the Company's vendor and service partners. Product categories that achieved the strongest year-over-year unit volume growth for the month on an average daily basis included: notebook CPUs, software, printers, video, memory and input devices. The Company plans to announce September 2006 sales and third quarter earnings on Wednesday, October 18, 2006. September 2005 had 21 billing days and September 2006 will have 20 billing days.
