3rd Quarter X-Charge Sign-ups at Record Levels

PR Newswire (US)
3rd Quarter X-Charge Sign-ups at Record Levels FOUNTAIN VALLEY,
Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CAM Commerce Solutions,
Inc. (NASDAQ:CADA) announced today that the total dollar amount of
new X-Charge payment processing applications received in the
quarter ended June 30, 2004 set new company records for each of the
consecutive months in the quarter as well as the quarter itself.
The Company received $77 million of annual credit card processing
volume in new processing applications in April, $81 million in May
and $98 million in June for a total of $256 million in the quarter.
The number of applications received was 204 in April, 210 in May
and 237 in June for a total of 651 applications received during the
quarter. This compares to 482 applications received for $168
million in processing in the March 2004 quarter. While not every
application will necessarily result in an active payment processing
account, the Company expects that the vast majority will. As of the
end of June the Company had approximately 97 active resellers that
have brought at least one customer live on X-Charge, up from 66 at
March 31, 2004. In the month of June, X-Charge processing
applications submitted by customers through the reseller channel
exceeded that of the Company's direct customer base for the first
time with 130 applications from the reseller channel and 107 from
the Company's direct customers. However, total dollar volume
represented by these applications was still higher for the
Company's direct customers in the month of June. "Our X-Charge
business continues to show solid growth," said Geoff Knapp, CEO of
CAM Commerce Solutions. "Every month will not always be better than
the next for new application sign-ups and each quarter may not
always be better than the next in this regard as we tend to hit
plateaus in this business before moving up again. However, we do
expect the long-term trend to be up. In the June 2004 quarter we
had one large multi-store customer that submitted applications
throughout the quarter, which accounted for approximately $50
million of the new applications in the quarter or almost 20% of the
dollar volume. This is a little unusual." Mr. Knapp further stated,
"New business is strong and new resellers continue to integrate
X-Charge into their software applications. On a go forward basis
our recurring X-Charge processing business has reached a run rate
that exceeds $4 million per year in revenue for the Company."
X-Charge is payment processing software that is integrated with the
Company's point of sale software, and the software of its
resellers. The Company provides payment processing services for its
customers utilizing X-Charge software and a third party credit card
payment processor. X-Charge generates revenues for the Company
based on credit card payment processing services provided to its
customers and its reseller's customers. About CAM Commerce
