In an effort to help organizations protect network storage,
BindView Corp. (NASDAQ:BVEW) announced today it is integrating its
next-generation of IT security compliance solutions with NetApp(R)
unified storage solutions. BindView plans to offer comprehensive
capabilities for monitoring and evaluating access controls in
NetApp storage environments with its award-winning bv-Control
portfolio. In today's multi-regulatory landscape, organizations
face increasingly complex data storage requirements. To help meet
specific statutes of limitation, mandates frequently require varied
timetables for retaining critical data, as well as validating
access controls are in place for meeting auditor requirements.
Using new capabilities in its bv-Control portfolio, BindView
customers will be able to monitor access controls, helping to
ensure information is both secure and available. "Customers are
moving massive amounts of data to NAS devices, particularly as
long-term storage is required for meeting a number of regulatory
mandates," said BindView Vice President of Field Marketing Chris
Smith. "As evidenced by the widespread incidents of malicious
behavior and threats, storage compliance best practices must
include policies that tightly monitor and manage access controls
for safeguarding critical data." "In environments where automated
performance tuning and sophisticated data management capabilities
are required, NetApp unified storage provides customers with
improved availability and a cost-effective way to protect critical
assets," said Network Appliance Vice President of Products and
Partners Patrick Rogers. "Working with BindView, customers will
gain integrated capabilities that keep data safe and available,
with the confidence that access controls are in place for
additional protection." About bv-Control for Windows BindView's
