BackWeb Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: BWEB), a leading provider of offline and mobile web software, announced today that BAE Systems, an aerospace and defense company, has licensed BackWeb's software to mobilize their Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) suite of applications in their U.S.-based operations. BAE Systems' initial plan for the BackWeb(R) Offline Access Server(TM) is to mobilize their Oracle PeopleSoft ePerformance Management solution, enabling mobile employees and managers to complete performance review documents while on the road and disconnected from the network. The Oracle PeopleSoft ePerformance enables BAE Systems to improve the speed and accuracy of the company's performance management with a paperless process. By extending this application with BackWeb, managers and mobile employees have their ePerformance Management application available anytime, anywhere. They will automatically synchronize their workflows and pending employee performance reviews to their laptops. While mobile and disconnected from the network, they are free to continue working on their performance reviews in the ePerformance Management web user interface as they do normally. Whenever mobile users acquire a network connection, their mobile work and the current state of the application are automatically synchronized. All ePerformance Management centralized administration, work processes, and user interfaces are automatically reflected in users' mobile applications. "BAE Systems has employees around the world, and ensuring that they have consistent access to the processes and tools that support them, such as access to performance management tools, is a challenge and a requirement if they are to continue to achieve high levels of personal and company productivity," said Curt Gray, senior vice president, human resources at BAE Systems. "Our focus is to provide our employees and managers with consistent access to the Oracle ePerformance Management application regardless of their location or network status." "We welcome BAE Systems to our family of customers," said Moshik Raccah, vice-president sales and business development at BackWeb. "We will help them achieve their goal of mobilizing multiple HCM applications for their distributed workforce. Our proven technology delivers and we look forward to helping BAE Systems improve employee productivity and accelerate company workflows."
