Telefonica SA's (TEF) German unit O2 said Thursday its second-quarter revenue was up 0.2% on the year to EUR896 million.

O2 Germany's service revenue generated by voice and data services via the mobile network was down 1.2% to EUR707 million.

Royal KPN N.V.'s (KKPNY) German mobile network provider E-Plus, third in the German market, last week posted a 1.4% revenue decline for the April to June quarter. Also last week, Vodafone PLC's (VOD) German unit said its revenue declined by 5.6%.

O2 said its mobile customer base grew by 10% on the year to 14.93 million while its customer base for fixed line broadband services was up 53.2% on year to 253,000.

O2 Germany's monthly average revenue per user, still, declined by 10.8% to EUR15.70.

Deutsche Telekom AG (DT) is set to report earnings Aug. 6.
