Caltex Australia Ltd. (CTX.AU) said Thursday that a major turnaround and inspection maintenance procedure at its Lytton refinery in Queensland state is almost complete and that a full shutdown of the refinery has ended.

The full shutdown lasted 17 days and some of the refinery is still partially shut, a Caltex spokeswoman said.

"Most of the units are up and operating again at Lytton, so we're coming out of the turnaround and inspection," the spokeswoman said.

"It has all gone smoothly and to plan."

The spokeswoman couldn't immediately specify when full operations will recommence but said the refinery is expected to be fully operational again by next week.

Caltex, 50%-owned by Chevron Corp. (CVX), owns two of Australia's seven operational oil refineries, which turn crude oil into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other oil-based products like lubricants.
