Ultra Wins Joint Strike Fighter Contract

Ultra Electronics is pleased to announce that its Precision Air Systems business
has been awarded a #2.2M ($3.8M) contract for the adaption of HiPPAG to meet the
requirements of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) development programme.

The order, received from EDO Corporation, is for the qualification of Ultra's
HiPPAG 520 airborne compressor and its integration into the weapons bay and
pylons of the aircraft. EDO are responsible for the entire Suspension and
Release Equipment Systems (S&RES) on the JSF. The development phase will
complete in late 2006.

The HiPPAG 500 technology is derived from the highly successful HiPPAG 320, over
1200 of which are in service, cooling seekers on short-range air-to-air missiles
on US Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

Dr Julian Blogh, Chief Executive, commented: "This important contract emphasises
the superiority of Ultra's innovative HiPPAG technology. We are delighted to be
selected to meet this key JSF requirement. Along with its excellent in-service
record for cooling missile seekers, HiPPAG has significant potential to provide
the energy source for advanced weapons ejection systems."
